Happy Mother’s Day to all the Momtrepreneurs (a mom and an entrepreneur)!
As our special Mother’s Day gift to you, we’re celebrating with the Mother’s Day Index, we’ve categorized all the things that moms do, then compared it to the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, to calculate how much time moms spend doing things and how much it would cost if we decided to outsource all the work mothers do. You will find that when we total it all up, the bottom line is pretty high!
When mom entrepreneurs say to me, “Why didn’t I spend more time on my business?” I say, “Take a look at all the important things you do, pick one, outsource it, then take the time saved to actually work on your business.” “Outsource” does not necessarily mean to spending money to hire someone. You could outsource by giving your kiddo an extra chore or by carpooling with other moms. The goal is to use that recouped time to work on your business (not binge watch your favorite shows).
This is a tool for self-awareness to better you and your business. It is not to be used as a weapon to beat up your loved ones and say, “look at all the stuff that I do for you.”
